Montedato, Lavertezzo Piano, Ticino, 2017. House renovation and extension:
The Ramelli house was an old rural stone building, uninhabited for a long time, with a stone roof in precarious conditions.
The project started with the teardown of the existing roof, replacing it with a prefabricated wooden construction and Rheinzink double standing seams, and preserving and restoring the rest of the building.
This resulted in two small apartments on two floors with a splendid view on Lago Maggiore and the Magadino plain. The new extension differs from the existing construction by using larch wood. Solar panels installed on the new roof together with a heat pump, will provide heating and hot water for the future inhabitants.
