Intragna, Centovalli, Ticino, 2022. House renovation and enlargement:
The Capriccio house rooms and apartments are dedicated to the hotel hospitality of the Ristorante Stazione. The project consists of a raising with three additional apartments.
The preexisting stone construction is reinterpreted as a base on which the expansion stands. This new plan presents a perimeter which is reduced by twenty centimetres in comparison to the existing construction with a purpose to emphasise the concept of a “base construction”. The raising has an independent entrance which is accessed through the public staircase which links the station level to that of the schools and Intragna’s historic centre. At the highest point of the passage the vegetation has been reorganised thanks to the treatment done by gardeners belonging to the Mayor company.
