Verscio, Terre di Pedemonte, Ticino, current project. Restoration of a heritage building:
The Villa Cavalli dates back to the mid-eighteenth century. It is situated in the “Parco dei Clown”, between the centre of Verscio and the church of San Fedele. The building was enlarged at the end of the nineteenth century, extending the existing floors and adding one more floor.
Today the building is a listed building of the municipality. It is part of the Fondazione and Accademia Dimitri (SUPSI). The project foresees conservative interventions and intends to adapt the spaces for teaching purposes and for cultural events.
As a listed building, the Villa Cavalli is being restored and preserved as carefully as possible. The structural elements will be retained. Changes mainly concern the modernization of the technical installations and the realization of barrier-free rooms.
