Brissago, Ticino, 2015. New single family house:
The property is located in the municipality of Brissago, on a large plot with an extraordinary one hundred and eighty degree view of Lake Maggiore.
The owner’s intentions were to use the preexisting small building as a primary residence, hence the need to transform it into a comfortable and up-to-date structure.
Consequently, the partial demolition of the original house, with conservation of the ground floor and extension of the building. The adoption of Misapor insulating concrete, together with the other structural and construction elements, contributes to give the whole a contemporary look, in contrast with the surrounding buildings. On the other hand, the initial intention of the client and designers was precisely that, to depart radically from the “pseudo-Mediterranean” image that populates the slopes of the area.
