Ronco sopra Ascona, Ticino, 2016. Ancient tavern restoration in the village:
The property, situated in the village center of Ronco sopra Ascona is confined on the border of the nucleus by a high wall. The rest of the building is connected to the neighboring buildings, a characteristic feature of historic village centers in Ticino. The building was once an ancient tavern, the «Antica Osteria del Moron”, as evidenced by a written barely visible on the southeast façade.
The renovation has maintained and enhanced the original structure, freeing it from the annexes that were added over the years. The original volume of the building got restored, with galleries and balconies on different levels, connected by an external staircase.
