Locarno, Ticino, 2011. New apartment building:
The property is located in Solduno in the ‘Chiossa’ zone, in the municipality of Locarno. The property was previously occupied by an abandoned and decaying building with the cantonal road above and the embankment of the Maggia river below.
The flat house, built after the demolition of the aforementioned building, took its name from the area, becoming ‘casa al Cioss’. The building is organised into fourteen flats of different sizes, all facing the river and with a view of the Losone countryside. A noise shelter has been built towards the cantonal road above, shielding the building from the heavy traffic on Via Vallemaggia.
