Tenero, Ticino, 2001. Two-family house renovation:
The dwelling is located at the base of the sunny slope where the historic centre of Tenero is situated. Close to a valuable farmstead complex, the building is in a sheltered position with respect to the Locarno – Bellinzona cantonal road.
The fundamental concept of the intervention was to improve the habitability conditions of the building without substantially altering its formal characteristics. The intervention was therefore based on the creation of two independent flats. At the same time, an attempt was made to compensate for the lack of space and light, rationalising the distribution of room functions and inserting, where necessary, new openings to ensure adequate lighting inside.
