Palazzo Tondü

Lionza, Centovalli, Ticino, 2006, historic building restoration:

Project design for a hotel accommodation in the historic village centre of Lionza for the foundation Casa Tondü.

Composed of three buildings from the XVII century, the project offers a centralized structure for services and technical facilities for 12 individual rooms. A box system, well detached from the historic walls, allows to provide room logistics without affecting the original perception of the rooms. The historical structures remain intact and receive a transparent roof that covers the common courtyard. The invetion brings back clarity to the original volumes and creates a living space of intimacy within the village centre of Lionza.
